Recognise the whole economic pathway

Inclusion can reach beyond mineral extraction: daily money management, savings, trade, family plans and collective initiatives.

CIFTAM sees women and savings groups as people whose needs shape the programme, not as a decorative addition.

Support without taking over

Village savings and loan associations have their own rules and collective decisions. Useful support respects this and makes its role clear.

Members manage collective savings. Support focuses on understanding rules, keeping records and preparing projects.

Connect learning to a real project

Understanding a budget, commitment or deadline is more useful when linked to real life. Support must start with people’s activities and constraints.

This calls for understandable formats, suitable participation conditions and opportunities to ask questions or report difficulties.

Help initiatives grow

Independence grows through management skills, local solidarity and diversified activities. Financial education helps turn intentions into better prepared projects.

The principle is simple: strengthen people’s understanding and ability to make decisions.
